Incorrect, lost or stolen documents (visa/passport)

eVisa errors

The VISA Advice team is able to help you to apply to correct your eVisa at no cost. In order to do this, they need certain information and your permission to liaise with the UKVI on your behalf. 

Process stages

1)  Send the completed eVisa or Card correction form, along with a screenshot of your eVisa to the VISA Advice team. The team will then contact the UKVI to highlight the mistake and see f it can be corrected..
2) The UKVI will look at your case, if a mistake has been made they will correct your eVisa details or they will confirm that they do not believe a mistake has been made.
3) The VISA Advice team will contact you (via your University email) to say whether the UKVI have agreed to correct your eVisa and, if they have, you will be able to check your updated visa online.
4) You should also notify VISA Compliance if your eVisa has changed. You can do this by emailing them explaining the situation and attaching a new sharecode.

If your passport has been lost or stolen here are the steps you need to follow:- 

1. Report the loss or theft. Keep evidence that you have done this such as a reference number, police report letter or email confirmation.

• If you are outside the UK: Report the loss or theft to the local police.
• If you are in the UK: report the loss online and theft at the local police station. 

2. Apply for a new passport at your embassy. You can find details of your embassy in the UK on  Foreign & Commonwealth Office list

3. Update Hwb with new passport details.

4. Update your UKVI account with new passport details: -

Sign into your UKVI account, go to Personal Details then 'add new identity document' and follow the instructions. You must do this before you travel.

The Home Office are no longer offering replacement BRP cards. However, if you have a BRP card and it is lost or stolen you must still report it to UKVI (even if it is expired).
