The Remuneration Committee is a standing Committee of the University's Council.
The Remuneration Committee has a wholly independent which is responsible for determining the Reward Strategy of the University and the remuneration of the most senior staff of the University including the Vice-Chancellor. The Committee is aligned with the CUC Higher Education Senior Staff Remuneration Code (November 2021) and publishes an annual report, which is available here: Remuneration Statement 2024.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and overseeing the University's reward strategy and policy for senior employees;
- Reviewing and determining the remuneration, benefits, and conditions of employment for the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Leadership Team;
- Setting parameters for the remuneration of Grade 11 staff and approving recommendations from the Professorial and Senior Salaries Committee;
- Approving severance arrangements for senior staff;
- Reporting annually to Council and contributing to the University's financial statements in line with the Higher Education Senior Staff Remuneration Code.
