Summary: In this Celebrating Black History 2026 event, Swansea alumnus Jeffrey Nsofor (MSc Finance), a chartered accountant with extensive experience in finance, business management, and development, shares “Lessons from the Front Line: Work, Advocacy, and Community Leadership After Swansea University”.  Drawing on his career in the financial sector and his voluntary role as a non-executive director with charities such as Welsh Triathlon, Jeffrey will reflect on navigating professional spaces as a Black leader, using advocacy to create opportunities for others, and balancing career ambitions with relationship and community commitments.  The session will offer practical insights on representation, mentoring, and impact for students and staff interested in careers in finance, business, and the third sector, followed by a Q&A. Organised by Swansea International Race Equality Network (SIREN).

Biography: 

Jeffrey Nsofor is a Chartered Accountant, finance professional, business leader and community advocate based in Swansea. A postgraduate alumnus of Swansea University, he has built a career spanning finance, business management, strategic leadership and organisational development.

Beyond his professional career, Jeffrey has maintained a strong commitment to community leadership and service. He serves as Pastor and Director of RCCG Place of Victory Swansea, where he provides leadership to a diverse and multicultural community, with a particular emphasis on developing people, strengthening families and creating opportunities for others to thrive.

His wider community and third-sector experience include serving as a Non-Executive Director of Welsh Triathlon and in leadership roles with the African Community Centre in Swansea. He is also passionate about mentoring, entrepreneurship and supporting emerging leaders to develop the confidence, skills and structures required to maximise their potential.

Across his professional, faith and community leadership, Jeffrey is passionate about representation, advocacy, developing people and using leadership to create meaningful and lasting impact.
