Mae Helen yn arwain y thema ymchwil Iechyd a Gwybodeg Cleifion a'r Boblogaeth yn yr Ysgol. Mae Helen yn gweithio ar secondiad am 0.5 niwrnod yr wythnos gyda'r NETSCC (Canolfan Cydlynu Gwaith Gwerthuso, Treialon ac Astudiaethau'r Sefydliad Cenedlaethol dros Ymchwil Iechyd) ym Mhrifysgol Southampton, fel Golygydd y cyfnodolyn Health Technology Assessment, ac am 0.75 niwrnod yr wythnos fel Golygydd ac Uwch-olygydd y cyfnodolyn Health Services and Delivery Research. Dan arweiniad Helen, sicrhaodd yr Uned Dreialon yn Abertawe gofrestriad llawn gyda'r UKCRN. Mae’n parhau i ymddiddori’n fawr mewn dulliau gwerthuso arbrofol, ac mae ganddi hanes cryf o ennill grantiau (> £45m).   Mae prif ddiddordebau ac arbenigedd ymchwil Helen ym meysydd gofal brys cyn mynd i'r ysbyty a gofal heb ei drefnu, gofal sylfaenol a chymorth ymchwil. Yn y meysydd hyn, mae ei gwaith yn canolbwyntio ar gynllunio, llunio a chynnal gwerthusiadau o dechnolegau iechyd a modelau newydd o ddarparu gwasanaethau sydd yn aml yn cynnwys newid rolau a gweithio ar draws ffiniau rhwng darparwyr gwasanaethau. Mae'r ymchwil yn gymhwysol, yn bragmatig ac yn arwain at newid ac effaith ym myd go iawn polisi ac ymarfer.
