Swansea University aims to provide a contemporary and practical legal education for our students. Therefore, our industry links are extremely important and over the years we have developed a close relationship with one of the top-ranking global firms; HFW.
HFW is a global law firm employing over 600 lawyers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, and offers 3 Prizes to Swansea students. The firm specialises in the aerospace, commodities, construction, energy, insurance and shipping sectors.
In the academic year of 2019-20, the winners of HFW Prizes were: Gillis Klotz (HFW Prize in Admiralty Law); Fabio Cerasuolo (HFW Prize in Oil and Gas Law) and Milan Tomic (HFW Carriage of Goods Prize). Gillis came to Swansea from Tulane University, whilst Fabio has worked in legal practice in Italy for 4 years prior to coming to Swansea. Milana originally hails from Montenegro and is also the recipient of Chevening Scholarship.
The Prizes were presented by Richard Neylon, Partner at HFW, who is also a Swansea graduate himself, in a Zoom conference. He congratulated the students for their success and expressed delight at the fact that Swansea LLM degrees are enjoying such a global reputation.
We are grateful to HFW for their continuing support to Swansea LLM degrees and making such an investment of the talent which will be the future of global legal practice.
