The Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL) held its 5th Webinar of the year on the 12th of May. The event was chaired by Associate Professor Leloudas and focussed on a very interesting question: how are technology and law transforming the global commerce and supply chain?
The IISTL were pleased to welcome a high-profile line-up for this event:
- Lucy England (Partner, Fox Williams LLP);
- Henk Mulder (Head, Digital Cargo - International Air Transport Association (IATA));
- Roeland van Bockel (Coordinator, EU FEDeRATED project), and
- Dan Soffin (Solicitor, Attorney, Principal: International Aviation Advisory Services)
All shared their views on the future of multimodal transport in a digital age, and it was pleasing to see the event attracting a large audience from all parts of the world, who played their part by putting forward very interesting questions.
Speaking after the event Dr Leloudas said:
"I can only thank Lucy, Henk, Roeland and Dan for giving us so much food for thought on the technological and legal future of multimodal transport. We couldn't have hoped for a better set of speakers on a topic that will inevitably dominate the agenda of the transport industry and academia in the coming years (if not already). Their knowledge and enthusiasm to share their views was second to none and contributed to a thought-provoking and enjoyable event"
The IISTL’s next Webinar will be held on 9 June focussing on the “Lessons to be Learned from the Global Pandemic for the Shipping Sector”.
