The Institute of International Shipping and Law enjoys a close relationship with Kennedys; a global firm specialising in several legal commercial sectors, with particular focus on insurance.
The firm has generously sponsored a prize for Swansea’s marine insurance module for a number of years and we are pleased to announce this year's winner.
This year's highest mark in marine insurance was achieved by Cesar Peniche Luna, who will benefit from both a cash prize and the opportunity to intern with the firm. Cesar originally hails from Mexico and is a qualified lawyer in his country.
The award was presented at a lunch in Kennedys' London office at a reception attended by several partners and newly qualified solicitors working in the firm.
Speaking after the event Professor Barış Soyer, who accompanied Cesar with Professor George Leloudas to Kennedys, said:
“It is a great pleasure to be associated with such an inspiring law firm. This is a clear indication of the respect Swansea LLM programmes get from practice, and this close association with Kennedys no doubt provides excellent opportunities for our students. This is going to be his second internship in the summer in London and we wish him all the best in his professional life.”
