LLM Students Embark on Another Educational Trip to London
Our Shipping and Trade LLMs programmes are designed to equip our students not only with specialized knowledge but also to prepare themselves to grab a wide range of opportunities available to them after completing their degrees. As part of our efforts, we place heavy priority on Employability. To that end, just like we did in December 2024, we took our students to London in June 2025 to visit the International Chamber of Shipping, where they were presented with a talk on the important work that the ICS does, how it runs day to day and some of its current projects. Students were able to ply Senior Legal Advisor, Dr Lia Amaxilati, with questions and were able to obtain insight into working in the industry.
Dr Kurtz-Shefford said of the event:
"The students had a great time at the event and learned a lot. We are grateful to the Chamber and Dr Amaxilati for providing this opportunity to our students. Our aim is to introduce our students to the market and provide networking opportunities that will benefit them. Each year, many of our students end up in law firms, insurance companies, banking and tech sectors in London and other major cities around the world and that is something that makes us extremely proud.”
