Prize winners with Mr Neylon, Professor Soyer and Rear Admiral Kenny at HFW Offices
LLM Students’ Success Recognised by HFW
At Swansea, we strive not only to deliver a contemporary, practice-focused LLM programme but also to connect our students with leading employers, enhancing their career prospects after graduation. For the past decade HFW — the world-renowned international commercial law firm — has supported our cohort by sponsoring three annual prizes that reflect the breadth of its shipping and commercial practice.
This year’s recipients, each achieving the highest mark in their respective modules, are:
• Richard Ati – HFW Prize in Oil and Gas Law
• Michael Gerontis – HFW Prize in Carriage of Goods
• Angel Akinro – HFW Prize in Admiralty
The prizes were presented at HFW’s London office by partner (and Swansea alumnus) Richard Neylon. The winners were accompanied to the ceremony by Professor Barış Soyer and Rear Admiral Fred Kenny.
Speaking after the event, Professor Soyer said:
“We extend our warmest congratulations to our students; their futures are bright. We also wish to thank HFW for its continued and invaluable support. By investing in the next generation of maritime and energy lawyers, the firm is making a significant contribution to the profession.”
