Three Swansea University academics have been named in the much anticipated annual Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list.
The Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list, from Clarivate, recognises the Swansea University researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade.
The researchers on the list this year are:
Professor Yogesh K. Dwivedi of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
Professor Nidal Hilal of the Faculty of Science and Engineering
Dr Shuai Li of the Faculty of Science and Engineering
The Highly Cited Researchers™ 2022 list uses both quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify individuals from across the globe who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their chosen field or fields of research.
The preliminary list of Highly Cited Researchers is drawn from the highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science™ citation index over the past decade. The list also identifies the research institutions and regions where they are based.
The methodology that determines the “who’s who” of influential researchers draws on the data and analysis performed by bibliometric experts and data scientists at the Institute for Scientific Information™ at Clarivate.
Professor Dwivedi said: “Such recognition cannot be achieved and sustained without many years of hard work, perseverance, persistence, fruitful international and interdisciplinary collaborations and, above all, without having the support from a tremendous and conducive research environment. I am immensely grateful to the School of Management and all my colleagues, PhD students and collaborators for providing me with a valuable and enabling research environment for the last 16 years.”
Professor Hilal said: “It is blessing if you find something you love to do in life, and it is a miracle if you work with an excellent team. The credit goes to my team over the years (postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers) and to my collaborators.”
Dr Li said: “I am honoured to be included in this respected list of Highly Cited Researchers 2022. To be recognised in this way inspires me in my work at the frontier of AI and robotics and safety and on pioneering performance guaranteed AI to provide a viable way to leverage the success of AI to robotics.”
