A Covenant to recognise the value that serving personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans and military families contribute to the university and the country, has been signed by Swansea University.
Representatives from many parts of the Armed Forces gathered at a ceremony at Singleton Abbey, to mark the continued co-operation between the university and the Armed Forces and to look forward to future support and collaboration.
Professor Paul Boyle, Vice-Chancellor of Swansea University welcomed representatives to the university before signing the Armed Forces Covenant with the Commanding Officer of the Wales Universities Officers’ Training Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Child.
Professor Boyle said:
“Swansea University has a long history of supporting those in the Armed Forces community. We are proud that this signing will demonstrate our commitment to driving positive change in our policies and practices to support servicepeople, ex-servicepeople and the families of servicepeople, moving forward.”
