Wales’s Chief Scientific Adviser was given an insight into different areas of research under way at Swansea University, ranging from medicine to semiconductors, on a recent visit to the University.
Professor Jas Pal Badyal, an internationally recognised research chemist, took up the role of Chief Scientific Adviser to the Welsh Government in February 2023.
Accompanied by Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Professor Helen Griffiths, Professor Badyal visited research teams on both Singleton and Bay Campus to learn about their work, including:
- Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials (CISM)
- Faculty of Science and Engineering
- Faculty of Medicine Health and Life Sciences
- A presentation on Intellectual property and Commercialization
- A Roundtable discussion with representatives from university partners in industry, including:
- Tata Steel UK
- Dwr Cymru
- Amgen
- CanSense Ltd
- Forged Solutions
- Calon Cardio-Technology Ltd
