Celebrating the Humanities

Being Human Festival 2025 | Swansea University & Cardiff University Collaborative Hub

Swansea University is proud to co-host the Being Human Festival 2025 in partnership with Cardiff University, forming a vibrant festival hub in South Wales. As the UK’s national festival of the humanities, Being Human celebrates the richness of human experience through free public events that bring cutting-edge research to life.

This year’s programme explores themes of identity, care, creativity, and resistance, through workshops, exhibitions, and storytelling. From quilt-making and manga to disability rights and queer remembrance, our events invite communities to connect with research in meaningful and imaginative ways.

Join us in Swansea, Cardiff, and Port Talbot to discover how the humanities help us make sense of the world, and each other.

Running from 7th-15th November.
