Swansea University's School of Management buzzed with excitement and anticipation on Wednesday, 7th February, as final year Business students gathered to deliver their midpoint presentations to their project providers. Despite the nerves and apprehension, the day was a resounding success, thanks to the support and encouragement from participating organisations.
The event saw a diverse array of companies, including Liberata, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Tata Steel UK, SANS Institute, Aldermore Bank, LiteBulb, The Wallich, and The Royal Mint, coming together to witness the culmination of the students' hard work. Over the course of the day, attendees engaged in networking sessions, fostering valuable connections over lunch.
"The BSc Business Management Programme's Final Year Project is the capstone module of up to four years of hard study. A live final year project, such as this, is crucial for Business Management students as it bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing invaluable real-world experience essential for navigating the dynamic challenges of the business environment," commented Dave Bolton, Associate Professor at the School of Management.
Dave Bolton also expressed his pride in the students, supervisors, and staff for their dedication and achievements thus far.
The sentiment was echoed by Ally Doherty, HR Manager at Liberata, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to witness the students' presentations firsthand. "The level of innovation and insight displayed was remarkable and reaffirmed our belief in the importance of supporting and engaging with academia and initiatives such as this," said Doherty.
The event not only showcased the students' academic prowess but also highlighted the fruitful collaboration between academia and industry, underscoring the mutual benefits of such partnerships.
As the day concluded, it was evident that the midpoint presentations had not only marked a significant milestone for the final year students but had also strengthened the bonds between Swansea University's School of Management and its esteemed business partners. With newfound confidence and support, the students are well on their way to achieving professional success in the dynamic world of business.
