Facilities Fit for Sporting Success

We're delighted to have seen continued investment in the University sports facilities in recent months, which supports its ambitious vision for sport: Sport Swansea: Active University Strategic Framework.

At Swansea Bay Sports Park over at Sketty Lane, the new Polytan Poligrass Tokyo GT hockey pitch is providing our hockey teams with a water-based surface fit for international-level success.

Over at the Bay, a new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), overlooking the beach, is proving extremely popular and supporting a wide range of sporting events and activities, including netball, tennis and basketball. Meanwhile, to the west of campus, work has commenced to double the capacity of the on-site gym.

Further enhancements to the University sporting infrastructure are also in the pipeline, including:

• A new 3G surface at Swansea Bay Sports Park
• A brand new space for exercise classes at The Bay
• An outdoor fitness trail at the Bay Campus
• Updated equipment coming soon to both campuses
