Swansea University is a diverse university, well-balanced of international students and local students. People (students, staff and locals) are friendly and approachable. Throughout my course, I've made friends from all around the world at Swansea University.

I chose to come here because firstly, the School of Engineering at Swansea University is highly ranked globally and internationally recognised.

Secondly, my brother graduated from Swansea University, and his comment and review about Swansea University gave me a good impression. He studied Civil Engineering MEng. He loves Swansea University and Swansea the city. The period of time that he was in Swansea was the best time in his life. Now he is a Civil Engineer working in Hong Kong.

I applied through an agency in late August (during clearing). It was pretty straightforward, nothing complicated and easy to understand. I sent all my information and documents to the agent in a day and received an unconditional offer within a few days’ time.

Swansea is a city by the sea, with a beautiful shoreline and scenic Welsh nature nearby. Water sports and mountaineering are particularly popular in Swansea.

The main difference between Hong Kong and Swansea is the lifestyle, Hong Kong is a bit more fast-paced than Swansea. But Swansea has a higher living quality than Hong Kong.

During my time here I've made the most of the Employability Team, the Academic Success Team and the Maths Café. The Employability team send work opportunities to students, organise employer talks and mock interviews frequently. The Academic Success Team and Math Café have helped me with assignments and exam preparation.

I have also been a Student Ambassador for the university whilst studying, this is a paid part-time role which has given me the chance to represent the university on open days, through photoshoots and campaign video shoots.

I am aiming to gain the Chartered Engineer title next.
