Get your broken items repaired, reduce waste and support the circular economy

On the 14th of May, we held another Repair Café at Harbwr Games Room, Singleton Campus, in conjunction with The Environment Centre.  The event was well attended, with over 35 repairs being made!  This was our fourth Repair Café to date, and further dates are planned for later this year after the summer break.

The Repair Café brings together a group of skilled individuals, who volunteer their time to repair broken items, such as: clothing, small household electronics, computer hardware and software, jewellery, ornaments and woodwork, plus basic bicycle maintenance and safety checks.  The repairers do their best to fix items, for free!  The perfect way to reduce waste, help the environment and make personal savings from extending the life of your products.

The Repair Cafés are open to all Swansea University students and staff to attend.  You can chat to your fellow students and colleagues and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while you wait.  The repairers will show you how to fix the item if you’re interested in finding out how it’s done!  A great way to share skills. Follow the Sustainability team on Eventbrite to be the first to hear about future dates for Repair Cafés on campus.

We’re really thankful to The Environment Centre and their Beyond Recycling Swansea project, who make it possible for us to hold Repair Cafés on campus.  The Environment Centre hold a monthly Repair Café in the city centre, open to the whole community.  You can view the upcoming dates here.
