We have partnered with Zombie Plastics to create a circular economy staff/student card holders.
After the highly successful collaboration with our beach clean plastic carabiners, taking waste off our beaches and creating circular economy products, we wanted to continue with our socially valuable endeavour.
We decided to create card holders as every student and staff member has one and they are not something currently that are made locally or made out of recycled materials. With a large supply chain and transit emissions, we thought this would be the perfect product to make locally with a social story/benefit.
The card holders are made from plastics and rope picked from the Bay Campus beach by our wonderful beach clean volunteers, and this material was shaped into bespoke card holder moulds to create the product.
We have just taken delivery of the first hundred holders and are now in discussions with Y Stwdio, Costcutter and JC’s on campus to start to sell these items more widely.
We would like to thank Zombie Plastics for this fantastic collaboration but also for all the other work we have done together, like our circular economy workshop during Go Green Week at the School of Management.
We hope to continue developing products with the circular economy in mind.
