If you are driven by intellectual curiosity and wish to be distinguished as a talented, ambitious and committed mathematician, then the MMath Mathematics degree at Swansea University is the course for you. 

Our MMath Mathematics is a challenging four-year course taking you to a masters-level work. It is designed for those who want to study in more depth, or who might want to use advanced mathematics in their careers or in research. You can choose to specialise in a particular aspect of mathematics or study courses from across the broad range offered by the department. 

Your learning will be shaped by inspirational and internationally-renowned academics including Prof Vitaly Moroz, Professor of Mathematics and expert in analysis and partial differential equations, and Dr Nelly Villamizar, Senior Lecturer, who is a researcher in the applications of algebraic geometry.

Modules

You will study the following compulsory modules and select from a choice of optional modules over the course of your degree. As you progress through your course you will have more flexibility to study more of the topics that interest you, culminating, in your final year with a 30-credit project module, studying an area of Mathematics of your choosing.

Many of our Year 3 and Year 4 modules alternate annually in order to provide students with different modules to study in years 3 and 4. Please get in touch for further details.
