Course Details
The module aims to enhance understanding and knowledge of infection prevention and control principles and practices. It uses legislative frameworks, local and national guidelines, and evidence-based literature to promote clinical practice and reduce healthcare-associated infections.
After completing the module, students will have the necessary knowledge and skills to incorporate modern infection prevention and control principles into their daily practice, evaluating existing infection control measures and identifying opportunities for quality improvements. They will be able to comprehend the difficulties associated with using antimicrobials and help reduce the occurrence of health and social care-associated infections in their workplace and surrounding communities.
