September 3rd 2025 saw the inaugural meeting of the Swansea Law School Advisory Board.
This has been created in order to develop and strengthen the crucial three way links between the Law School, our students, and their future employers. The broad purpose of the Board is to discuss matters such as curriculum, changes in law, routes to qualification and opportunities for students as well as listening carefully to employers to understand what they are looking for in a modern law graduate.
Our programmes are in regular review to adapt to the needs of the profession and the Advisory Board is instrumental in assisting the University with this.
The plan is for the Board to meet approximately 3 times a year with at least 1 meeting in person, normally held in the Law School itself as was the case on Wednesday, when we were delighted to welcome 47 attendees in the hybrid form that we chose, with 38 being in person. A range of discussions took place ranging from the SQE qualification process to placement and work experience opportunities. It was a vibrant and stimulating discussion that led to constructive and viable paths to develop the relationships.
