What are your top 3 favourite things about Swansea (the city/area)?

The Coastline and Beaches. Swansea is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the UK. Whether it’s a quiet walk along the shore or watching the sunset over the Gower Peninsula, the natural beauty of the coastline is unforgettable.

The Blend of City and Nature. What makes Swansea special is the balance between urban life and green spaces. In just a short drive or walk, you can go from the city centre to peaceful parks, forests, and coastal paths. Singleton Park and Clyne Gardens are perfect escapes for a bit of calm.

The Community and Cultural Vibe. There’s a friendly, down-to-earth feel in Swansea. Local markets, independent cafés, and events like the Swansea Festival or street food nights at Marina Market give the city a strong sense of community and creativity.

Why did you choose to study your degree at Swansea?

I chose Swansea because it combines excellent teaching with a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. My supervisors’ dedication to impactful research and real-world application inspired me. The friendly environment and beautiful coastal setting make it an ideal place to grow academically and personally.

What is your favourite thing about your course?

My favourite thing about my course is the opportunity to focus my research on the Sundarbans mangrove ecosystem. Studying such a unique environment has allowed me to develop practical skills in fieldwork and data analysis while contributing to understanding and protecting this globally important habitat.

What are you planning to do after you graduate?

After I graduate, I plan to pursue a career in teaching. I’m passionate about sharing knowledge and inspiring students, and I’d like to use what I’ve learned, especially from my research on the Sundarbans, to encourage environmental awareness and scientific curiosity in the classroom.

Would you recommend Swansea University to other students? Why?

Yes, I would definitely recommend Swansea University to other students. It offers high-quality teaching, supportive staff, and excellent research opportunities. The friendly atmosphere and beautiful coastal setting create a great environment for both personal and academic growth. It’s a place where you feel genuinely valued.
