What are your top 3 favourite things about Swansea (the city/area)?
Swansea is a great place to live and study, it’s relaxed and friendly, perfect for focusing on your work without too much hustle. Plus, you’ve got amazing beaches with some nice coastal views. And if you love nature, there’s loads of green spaces to explore, from parks like Singleton Park to the wild beauty of the Gower Peninsula and the nearby Brecon Beacons. Swansea’s got a chilled student vibe and loads of stunning places to unwind.
Why did you choose to study your degree at Swansea?
Swansea is known for its academic excellence, and it has a program that spoke directly to what I wanted to do, combining business with sustainability principles to understand the approach companies are taking to address the sustainability imperatives we face as a society today. Moreover, Swansea has been an incredibly supportive university, from the admission process right through to my arrival on campus, a level of support that made a real difference and one that I continue to benefit from as a student. Additionally, Swansea University has a strong graduate employment rate, along with employability support that remains accessible even after graduation. Finally, my master’s program is also accredited for CMI Level 7 accreditation from the Chartered Management Institute, which is another asset to stand out in the job market.
What is your favourite thing about your course?
My favourite thing about my course is how perfectly it combines theory with real-world cases. The course doesn’t just discuss sustainability; it takes you into the heart of current debates while equipping you with practical tools to understand and navigate these challenges. I love that we don’t just talk about frameworks but also apply them hands-on, this learning doesn’t only stay in the classroom; it shapes how you see every industry’s future.
What are you planning to do after you graduate?
After graduation, I plan to return to the DR Congo and participate in the transformation of the country’s key industries through practical sustainable solutions. My focus will be on implementing renewable energy systems and introducing circular economy models in agriculture. I will target roles with leading sustainability consultancies or the government’s new Green Growth Initiatives, where I can apply my certified leadership skills to drive change.
Would you recommend Swansea University to other students? Why?
Absolutely, I would recommend Swansea University without hesitation. The quality of education is outstanding, with incredibly supportive lecturers who are always available to guide you. The university provides exceptional resources and strong student support services, offering comprehensive assistance to ensure academic and personal success. It’s this combination of academic excellence and genuine care for students that makes Swansea truly special.
