BSc Business Management

Hi, my name is Liwei Wen. I'm about to graduate with a bachelor's degree in Global Business Management.

Why Did You Choose Swansea University?
At first it was Swansea’s strong QS ranking that caught my eye. But what truly convinced me were three key factors: the modern and well-equipped facilities, the beautiful seaside campus that offers a peaceful learning environment, and most importantly, the course structure, which was thoughtfully designed and aligned perfectly with my academic and career aspirations.

Why Did You Choose a Top Up Programme?
I already hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing, but I felt the need to strengthen my practical understanding of global business. This Top-Up programme stood out because it bridges academic theory with real-world application. It also serves as the perfect steppingstone for pursuing a master’s degree in the UK.

What Will This Course Do for You in the Future?
This past year has been truly transformative, thanks to the knowledge and experience I’ve gained. I now have several clear career directions in my mind, whether it is in a dedicated cross-board commercial industry or becoming a business analyst, or even launching my own business. Most importantly, this course has given me the tools and confidence to chase these goals head on.

Would You Recommend Swansea University?
I would recommend Swansea University because it offers a complete academic ecosystem. The teaching system is well-organised, learning resources are easily accessible, and there are tons of extracurricular activities available. The student community here is vibrant and inclusive. The lecturers and tutors are incredibly supportive, whether you have a question online or in person, they’re always approachable and patient.

What’s Your Plan After Graduation?
I’m currently interning at Tone Global, a Shanghai based marketing agency founded by a UK entrepreneur. The company focuses on building culture and business bridges between Chinese and British brands. During my internship, I’ve been working in areas like client communication, market research, content creation and project management. I am amazed at how often I find myself applying the knowledge and the skills I have developed during my time at Swansea. It’s a clear reminder of how valuable this year has been.
