Go Green Week celebrates its 3rd year at Swansea University.
Over 29 events took place during the week of February 3rd – 9th, highlighted by our main event, the Go Green Fair, which featured more than 38 stalls, workshops, climate research, and local charities and community groups alongside the SU giant tapestry. Additional highlights included Goleudy’s community fridge event, a live Fairtrade sculpture build, and fantastic willow weaving sessions
We had live music, DJ workshops, and free vegan food, marking a 25% increase from last year, as well as a plethora of other activities and workshops open to students, staff, and the local community to engage with throughout the day. We partnered with over 29 internal and external companies and departments to deliver Go Green Week for both our university and local community, which included our Zombie Plastics workshop. In this workshop, students ventured onto the beach to collect microplastics and embarked on a circular economy journey, taking the products home with them at the end!
We concluded Go Green Week with our photography exhibition at the Taliesin and the theatre show “Art of Connection” featuring Jackie Morris & Jay Griffiths.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who partnered, supported, participated, and attended!
