Be available

Be available and ready for when your results are published on Results Day (Thursday 13 August), as you may have to make some quick decisions on your next steps. Be prepared to speak to universities and colleges, it’s good to talk to them yourself and not leave this to somebody else.

Check your email

We’ll email you on Results Day to confirm whether you’ve secured your place or if we’re still reviewing your application. We will also let you know if we’re waiting for any outstanding results or documents from you.

Check UCAS

You can check your application status on UCAS from the morning of Thursday 13 August. We will also email you before Results Day with details of how to access our Confirmation system and any actions you may need to take.

What to do if you have an offer

Met the terms of your firm choice?

CONGRATULATIONS!

If you hold a Conditional Firm offer with us and meet the requirements, your place will be confirmed automatically and your offer status will change to Unconditional Firm. There's no need for you to contact the University to confirm this - please check your offer status online.

We’ll send you more information about joining the University over the coming weeks.

Received a "changed course offer"?

If you haven’t met the conditions of your offer we may offer you a place on a different course that we feel would be a good fit for you.

You can choose whether to accept or decline this offer through UCAS. You’ll be able to reply once a decision has been made on your insurance choice too.

You’ll have five days to respond to a changed course offer, but we recommend replying as soon as you can, as this may help us allocate your accommodation more quickly.

What to do if you don't receive an offer

We understand this can be an anxious time for you. If you don’t achieve the grades required, we’ll review your results carefully and consider your individual performance alongside others applying for the same programme. We’ll do our best to confirm your place or offer you a place on an alternative programme.

We’ll email you on Thursday 13 August if this applies to you, and aim to make decisions on borderline cases by Friday 14 August.

Our Admissions Office and Confirmation & Clearing Helpline are very busy around Results Day. To help you get the information you need as quickly as possible, please check the guidance on our website first.

For requests submitted by email, such as deferral requests, please allow 1–2 working days for us to respond or process your request. We appreciate your patience while we work through enquiries as quickly as possible.

If you want to change course

If you receive your results and want to study a different course, please email admissions@swansea.ac.uk with a brief outline of the course you wish to be considered for, and why you have changed your mind. This will then be sent to our Admissions Tutor for consideration.
